Marci Stephens, MPT, CSCS

Marci grew up in Iowa and attended the University of Iowa where she obtained her Bachelors degree in General Science/Zoology and graduated in 1987 with a Masters in Physical Therapy (MPT).

Marci has worked in a variety of settings. She started in Salt Lake City, working in neurologic rehabilitation, in-patient hospital/acute care, chronic pain management and outpatient orthopedics. Her specific interests led her into orthopedics and sports medicine. Marci moved to Moscow in 1992 and has been serving the Moscow/Pullman community ever since.

Physical therapy encompasses many aspects. Having the knowledge to do a comprehensive biomechanical evaluation is crucial to effective intervention. Marci has extensive continuing education in a variety of techniques, which allows her to fit the treatment to the patient. She incorporates a combined approach, utilizing manual therapy, soft tissue work – including massage and myofascial release – taping, exercise prescription, and functional rehabilitation. She treats all types of patients in the orthopedic and sports realm with interest in spine/pelvis/SI issues and shoulder rehabilitation. Marci is also interested in wellness and preventative medicine, encouraging the ‘physical tune-up – screening’ to catch potential problem areas.

Marci is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Sports Medicine Section. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and enjoys working with people for performance enhancement. She is a member of the Moscow Area Mountain Biking Association (MAMBA) and the Palouse Road Runners.

Outside of the clinic, much of Marci’s time revolves around her daughter, Joelle and son, Cooper. She enjoys mountain biking, running, hiking, snowshoeing and being a part of the local music scene.
